Peggy Gardner

Peggy Marie Gardner, age 71, of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life on Friday, September 25, 2026, at her residence. She entered this life on October 10, 1954, in Noel, Missouri, born to the union of the late Leslie and Anne Marie (Shoemaker) Porter.

Peggy was a lifelong area resident and a 1972 graduate of McDonald County High School. On June 21, 1975, she married, Jerry Gardner, and together they shared fifty-one years of marriage. Peggy was a faithful wife, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she treasured the many relationships that enriched her life.

She worked on the family farm gathering eggs in her earlier years, and she later retired from Wal-Mart after 20 years of service as a customer service manager.

Peggy found joy in many interests throughout her life. She loved horseback riding, caring for her cats, gardening, rock hunting, astronomy, and dinosaurs. Whether she was tending to her garden, spending time with animals, or looking up at the night sky, she embraced life with a gentle and thoughtful heart.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Gardner of the home; two children, Sarah Creason and her husband, James, of Anderson, Missouri, and Daniel Gardner of Anderson; seven grandchildren; a sister, Linda Wallace and her husband, Kenneth, of Joplin, Missouri; as well as a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Patty Reece; and an infant brother.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Pineville Cemetery, with Jamey Cope officiating. No formal visitation will be held. Arrangements are under the care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
