Stan Underhill

(From Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home)

Stanley Lynn Underhill, age 65, went to be with his Lord, passing peacefully at home on September 27, 2026, with his wife close by his side. He was born on October 1, 1960, in Springfield, Missouri, to Dolan D. and Patricia A. (Bowles) Underhill.

Stan was a graduate of Pleasant Hope High School and started working shortly after at Kraft Foods in Springfield, Missouri, where he stayed for 18 years. He left there and went to work in Maintenance at Missouri Baptist Children's Home for the next 19 years. His final career change when the Lord called him home just one year short of his retirement was as the Assistant Superintendent for the City of Joplin, Missouri, Wastewater. He was a dedicated and loyal employee, always going above and beyond.

Stan married the love of his life (Mindy) Melinda S. (Harris) on August 7, 1982, at Round Grove Baptist Church with pastor Bob Holman officiating. They had an amazing life of 44 years together.

Stan is survived by his children, Ryan L. Underhill, and Rachel B. Sopok (husband James); two grandchildren, Braedon W. Perisho and Gavin J. Sopok; one sister, Rayna A. Underhill.

Along with spending time with family, he enjoyed many passions from running sound and doing drama for many years at his church, bowling, gun collecting, Clash of Clans, Ham Radio (W0HX) and building antennas to transmit on. But if you asked him what his greatest passion was, it would be that his family and friends get to know his Savior so that they can spend eternity with him in Heaven.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Round Grove Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Fossett-Mosher funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.

Online condolences may be shared at www.FossettMosherFuneralHome.com.
