(From Clark Funeral Home)Michael Glen Dannels was born on July 31, 1951, in Wharton, Texas, Matagroda County, the son of William David Dannels and Katherine Louise ‘Bowers’ Dannels. He passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026, in Anderson, Missouri, McDonald County, at the age of 75.
Michael attended school in Blessing, Texas and went on to graduate from Texas A & I University with an engineering degree. He started working as a drilling engineer and consultant in South, Texas, two years in Bogata Columbia and 45 years in Libya for Sirte Oil Company and had many friends there.
Following his retirement from the oil fields, he settled in McDonald County, where he worked as a rancher. Michael enjoyed raising cattle, watching western and football, especially, the Dallas Cowboys and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, who affectionally called him ‘grandpa’ and ‘meathead.'
On March 12, 1979, he was united in marriage to Phillis Jean Barnett in Henrietta, Texas.
In addition to his wife, Phillis Dannels, he is survived by one daughter, Angela Dawn Little and husband, Phillip of Neosho, Missouri; one grandson, Braden Colt Little also of Neosho, Missouri; one granddaughter, Shelby Rena Wicks and husband, Cody of Blue Jacket, Oklahoma; three great granddaughters, Emma Rena, Cora Jean and Abby Rose; four brothers, Bill, Paul, Robert and John and four sisters, Linda, Nancy, Margaret and Anita. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Friday, October 2, 2026, at McNatt Cemetery.
