(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Betty Jane Blagg, 81, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2026. Betty was born December 12, 1944, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Jeff and Loucille (Tarlton) Allen. Betty graduated with the “Class of 1963” from Neelyville High School in Neelyville, Missouri.
After high school, Betty married the love of her life, Frank. She was a loving wife and mother. Betty was a “Mama Bear” to all those she held dear. She loved God, her family, and her country deeply. Some might have said Betty was a bit opinionated, however, those close to her called her competitive or passionate. She enjoyed a rummage sale here and there, as well. Betty was also a member of the First Christian Church of Carthage. She truly loved the simple things in life.
Betty was united in marriage to Franklin “Frank” Cole Blagg on April 3, 1963, in Harville, Missouri. They were together for fifty-one years; he preceded Betty in death on May 4, 2014.
Betty is survived by her son, Kirt Blagg of Carthage; daughter, Patricia Anderson (Douglas) of Carthage; sister, Kathy Allen of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; grandchildren, Jeremy Anderson (Heather), Aaron Anderson (Nicole), Chrystal Long (Kenny), Baylee Riddle (Aaron), Konner Blagg (Katelyn), Colton Anderson, Addi Bushnell (Nathan), and Rylee English (Jakob); and great grandchildren, Claire Green, Mathew and Madelyn Anderson, Mila Anderson, and Jak English.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband; infant son, Franklin Cole Blagg, Jr.; parents, Jeff and Loucille; sister, Patricia Hemphill; and brothers, Leon, Jerry, Barry, Terry, and John Allen.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, Missouri. A visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to services.
