Billy Hood

Billy J. Hood, 32, of Sarcoxie, Missouri departed this life on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas after a courageous battle with cancer.

Billy entered this life on May 13, 1983 in Joplin, Missouri. He was a lifelong resident of the Sarcoxie area and attended Pierce City Schools. On April 13, 2012 he was united in marriage to Kimberly Payne at Exeter, Missouri. He enjoyed fishing, playing video games with his sons, playing basketball and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Sarcoxie River of Life Church.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Forrest and Violet Hood; as well as several uncles and aunts.

Billy is survived by his wife, Kimberley Hood, of the home; his sons, Dakota Hood, Billy Hood, Jr. and Matthew Delcour; stepchildren, Stephen Payne and Kayla Bathe; mother, Annie Williams and husband Hank of Sarcoxie; father, Bill Hood of Sarcoxie; two brothers; Joseph Ellison and wife Shawna of Cassville, MO and Joshua Hood of Sarcoxie; his half-brother and sisters; William Hood, Cindy Hood and Tammy Hood; his grandparents, Tony and Carolyn Patrick of LaRussell; mother in law, Mary Roberts, state of Indiana; nephew, Dallas Ellison; several uncles and aunts; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Hood are 1:00pm Monday, March 21, 2016 in the Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home Chapel in Sarcoxie, Missouri with Pastor Sherman Burruss officiating. Burial will follow in the Sarcoxie Cemetery. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Stephen Payne, Joshua Hood, Joseph Ellison, Danny Erskin, Hank Williams and Rick Patrick. Honorary pallbearer will be Tim Patrick. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family has requested memorial contributions be made to Kimberly Hood for final expenses and may be left at the funeral home.
