Ruby Chaney

Ruby O. Chaney, 97 years, of Anderson, Missouri was called to heaven on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Anderson, Missouri.

She was born on March 11, 1919 in Anderson, Missouri to the late Alac Elmer and Flara Belle (Divine) Wilson. Ruby was one of 12 children of which she was the last survivor. She married the love of her life, Maynard Chaney on May 15, 1937 in Seneca, Missouri. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and canning. Ruby was a caregiver at heart, caring for her mother and mother-in-law until their passing. Her home was warm and loving where the family would gather. She was a longtime faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Anderson, Missouri, where she taught Sunday School for several years.

Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maynard Chaney on September 15, 1995; her daughter, Alyce Chaney Farmer on April 5, 2006; a great granddaughter, Amber Miller; seven brothers, Othniel, Howard, Harold, Athel, George, Dean and Billy Joe Wilson; four sisters, Opal Kinder, Pearl Wallis, Lena Tye and Retha Johnson.

She is survived by a granddaughter, Cathy Hodges and husband, David of Bastrap, Louisiana; five great granddaughters, Sierra, Courtney, Victoria, Hope, and Madycen; numerous nieces and nephews who adored her. She will be deeply missed by all.

Visitation for Ruby will held at 10:00 am on Monday, March 21, 2016 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Pastor Ron Adrian will officiate. Burial will follow in the Peace Valley Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri. Jeff Brady and her nephews will honor Ruby's life by serving as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be given to the First Baptist Church Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
