Codger Schrader

Emery “Codger” Schrader, of Lockwood, MO, departed this life on Saturday, March 12, 2016, in Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO at the age of 92 years. 

He was born on December 27, 1923 in Sylvania, MO to William and Sophie Schrader. Codger served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was united in marriage to Alice Massman on February 27, 1949 in Lockwood, MO. Codger retired as a truck driver. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. 

Preceding him in death were his parents, William and Sophie Schrader; and his sister, Dorothy Gloodt. Survivors include his wife, Alice Schrader of Lockwood, MO; three sons, Jerry Schrader of Lamar, MO, William Schrader of Golden City, MO, and Robert Schrader of Lockwood, MO; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Schrader, Gabriel Schrader, Jennifer Schrader, Jason Schrader, Jonathon Schrader, Jeremy Schrader, and Heather Leeper; and two great-grandchildren, Baleigh Leeper and Elliott Schrader. 

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016, in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice, Dade County Nursing Home, or to the Alzheimer’s Association. Online condolences may be shared atwww.greenfieldfuneralchapel.com
