Christina Slaughter

Mrs. Christina Lynn Slaughter, 52, of Goodman, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday morning, March 29, 2016, at her residence after a five year battle with cancer.

Christina entered this life on September 10, 1963, in Kansas City, Kansas, daughter of the late Maurice Dwayne and Charlene (Smithhisler) Lowe. Her formative years were spent in the greater Kansas City area. In 1979 she moved with her family to Goodman, Missouri. She was a 1981 graduate of Neosho High School. On November 19, 1982, she was united in marriage to Wesley Joseph Slaughter and together they have shared the last thirty-three years. For ten years she was employed by H&R Block in Anderson, Missouri, as a tax preparer. She enjoyed attending concerts, visiting area flea markets and scrapbooking. She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness Church in Neosho.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Tyler Eldon Slaughter; and her grandparents, Charles and Helen Smithhisler and Maudie Bates.

She is survived by her husband, Wesley Slaughter of the home; two daughters Amanda Steeples and husband, Charlie, of Joplin, Missouri and Alisha Slaughter also of Joplin; a son, Travis Slaughter and wife, Kendis, of Graham, North Carolina; five grandsons, Joseph, Beckam, Axel, Elijah and Gunner; two granddaughters, Nala and Braylee; two sisters, Maureen Wallender of Joplin, Missouri and Shirley Lowe of Neosho, Missouri; several nieces and nephews as well as a host of other family and friends.

Memorial services for Mrs. Slaughter are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016, in the Goodman Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes.
