Buck Bower

Junior “Buck” Bower, 89, of rural Weir, KS, passed away at 3:47 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the Via Christi Hospital. 

He was born July 22, 1926 at Medoc, Missouri, the son of Lonnie and Marie (Stockton) Bower. 

On September 25, 1949, he was united in marriage to Charline Glaser at Pittsburg. She survives at the family home. Mr. Bower was a farmer and stockman, raising Polled Herfords. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Rayma Bower of Ft. Scott and Vivian Jackson of Joplin, MO; two brothers, Cloyd Bower of rural Pittsburg and LeRoy Bower of rural Pittsburg; a sister, Doris Gaston of rural Pittsburg. He will also be missed by four of his 4 footed friends. He was preceded in death by parents, and an infant daughter, Zoe Ann Bower. 

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday (April 2) at Brenner Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where friends may call after 11 a.m. The family suggests memorials to SEK Humane Society or local animal shelter of their choice.
