Dorothy Ellen Becknell,90, Neosho died March 25, 2016 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin. Dorothy was born to Arford and Roma (Wyatt) Marble on March 14, 1926. She was a lifelong resident of Neosho and a Pre-School Teacher at First Christian Church Daycare. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Neosho, MO. On December 14, 1947 she married Robert Becknell in Bolivar, MO. He preceded her in death on August 27, 2000.
She is survived by three children: Phyllis Blackwood, Neosho, Ron and Peggy Becknell, Neosho and Randy and Margie Becknell, Ballwin, MO. She is also survived by one sister: Margie Platner, Anderson, MO, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by one daughter, Pam Gould, one son-in-law, Robert Blackwood, three brothers: Leonard, Lee and Don Marble and two sisters: Pearl Bogle and Ruby Adams.
Services will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Christian Church, Neosho with Al Gritten, Officiating. Interment will follow at IOOF Cemetery, Neosho. Friends may view Monday, March 28, 2016 from 9 am to 7 pm and the family will receive friends from 6- 7 pm Monday evening.
