Scotty Moore

Denzil "Scotty" Marlyn Moore, age 85, of Golden City, Missouri passed away May 9, 2022, at Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation Center in Lockwood, Missouri.

Scotty was born February 2, 1937 in Dade County, Missouri to Leonard Newton Moore and Eula Marie (White) Moore. On January 20, 1961, Scotty married Carolyn "Sue" Weinstein in Grain Valley, Missouri.









Scotty served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1963 and attained the rank of SP-4. He worked as a plant supervisor for Leggett and Platt for 33 years, retiring in 2002. Scotty was union president of AFL-CIO, a former city councilman, a weather watcher for Barton County, he loved his dogs, liked to fish and tinker with old cars and go to the junkyards.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Sue; two sons, Steven and his wife La Donna Moore of Bolivar, Missouri and Sterling and his wife Rebecca Moore of Lamar, MO; eight grandchildren, Drew and wife Breann Moore, Marissa Moore and partner Brian Beaman, Heather Tredway and husband Michael, Ryan Moore and wife Laura, Jadyn Price and husband Tyler, Morgan Moore and fiancee Holly Piroli, Zach Moore and fiancee Megan Henry and Sarah Swearingin and husband Michael; eight great-grandchildren, Ella and Atticus Moore, Ashlyn and Chase Tredway, Benson and Charlie Price, Jaycee Swearingin and Kaden Bannister; six sisters, Esther Mae Perry of Independence, Missouri, Kathleen Pycior of Grain Valley, Missouri, Shirley Ann Crowder of Anderson, Missouri, Carol Rose Powers of Neosho, Missouri, Dorothy Marie Drummond of Lone Jack, Missouri and Nancy Bushey of Napoleon, Missouri along with many nieces and nephews.

Scotty was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Junior Moore and a sister, Mary Lee Moore.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 13, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Golden City, MO., with burial to follow in Pippenger Cemetery in Lockwood, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar, MO.
