(From Parker Mortuary)Bobbie J. Russell, age 77 of Joplin, Missouri, passed peacefully on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin. Bobbie was born on November 22, 1946 in Joplin to the late Carl and Dolores (Bybee) Davis.
Bobbie grew up in the Joplin area and graduated from Joplin High School. After graduating, Bobbie worked for companies such as Motorola and Display Tech, and even owned and operated her own beauty shop in Joplin for several years. In her early years, Bobbie could be found racing the quarter mile at MOKAN Drag strip.
Bobbie’s greatest joy was raising her family and being involved with her grandchildren. Surviving Bobbie include her son, Bruce Russell (Augusta) of Joplin; daughter, Tiffani Hughes (Rodney) of Joplin; five grandchildren, Christina Landburg, Jacquelyn Fletcher, Morgan Poteet, Danielle Russell, Levi Russell and Izaiyah Hendricks; seven great-grandchildren, Paige Langford, Landon Fletcher, Addi Landburg, Krew Elldge, Lincoln Fletcher, Maxamillion Poteet, Felix Poteet and Zayee Hendricks.
Other than her parents, Bobbie is preceded in death by her brother, Jackie Davis and a sister, Jerie Butler.
Family will receive friends on Monday, May 20th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the Parker Mortuary Chapel. Funeral services are Tuesday, May 21st at 10:00 am at Parker Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Freeman Kidney Foundation, in care of the mortuary.
Bobbie will be taken for cremation following the service. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
