(From McQueen Funeral Home)Cha Kong Yang, born on April 4th, 1952, in Bouana, Xiangkhouang, Laos, passed away on April 30th, 2024, in Joplin, Missouri. A courageous veteran of the Vietnam War, Cha Kong fought alongside American troops in Long Cheng with the support of the CIA until April 1975.
Following the war, Cha Kong immigrated to Chicago, Illinois, in 1978, before settling in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, in 1980, where he resided for 22 years. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to Stark City, Missouri, where he pursued his dream of owning a poultry farm.
In his leisure time, Cha Kong found joy in fishing, hunting, and spending time with his loved ones. He leaves behind cherished memories with his wife of 49 years, three children, four grandchildren, and a loving extended family.
Cha Kong is survived by his father, wife, children, grandchildren, a brother, sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. May his legacy of bravery and resilience live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Services will be held from 8:00 A.M. until 11:00 P.M. Saturday, May 25, 2024 and from 7:00 A.M. Sunday, May 26, 2024 until 9:00 A.M. Monday, May 27, 2024 at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 27, 2024 at Dice Cemetery in Fairview, Missouri.
