Wayne Reinhart

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Donald “Wayne” Reinhart, age 72, of Neosho, Missouri, passed away at his home on January 12, 2026, while in the loving care of Good Shepherd Hospice, surrounded by his wife, son, and daughter.

Wayne was born on March 20, 1953, in Fredonia, Kansas, to Donald Rhea Reinhart and Lola Mae Conrad.

After graduating from high school, Wayne proudly served in the United States Navy from 1971 to 1975. During his service, he traveled extensively, including a tour in Vietnam, and earned numerous medals in recognition of his dedication and service.

Wayne spent his career working as a pattern rigger in steel foundries until his retirement. In his retirement years, he found great enjoyment in woodworking and restoring old cars. He was a proud member of VFW Post 534 in Joplin, Missouri. Wayne loved being at home and often said that after traveling the world in the Navy, he had no desire to go anywhere else. He especially treasured being home before dark so he could check on his beloved dog, Georgia.

On December 15, 2000, Wayne married Candie Bessman (Gorman) at a preacher’s home in Diamond, Missouri, and she survives him.

He is also survived by his children, Eric Reinhart (Brandi Rifenberg) of Diamond and Cindy Reinhart of Diamond; his sisters, Jane McGinnis (Eldon) of Fredonia, Kansas, and Anita Sumner (Paul) of Topeka, Kansas; five grandchildren, Jarren Reinhart (Brooke), Maleeah Patterson, Quintin Patterson, Levi Korn, and Lilly Korn; and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him great pride and joy.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial visitation will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home’s Chapel of Memories.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in care of Clark Funeral Home, P.O. Box 66, Neosho, Missouri 64850.

Wayne’s cremains will be laid to rest with full military honors at Fort Scott National Cemetery in Fort Scott, Kansas, at a later date.
