Gary L. Kienzle, age 72, Joplin, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at his home after a lengthy illness.
Gary was born October 1, 1942 in Carthage, Missouri, son of the late Oscar Clarence Kienzle and Nadyene Marie McPeak Kienzle. He attended Joplin Schools, and joined the United States Army out of High School.
He returned to Joplin, and worked at Precision Products and Foremost Dairy before beginning his career with the Insulator's Union #63 of Springfield, Missouri. He did this for over 35 years before retiring. He was also a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, the former Carlene Farrar, whom he married May 17, 1969 in Joplin; a son, Mark Kienzle, a daughter, Angela Kienzle both of Joplin; grandchildren, Madison Kienzle, Mallory Kienzle, and Oscar Kienzle; a sister, Karen Smith of Grove, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 6, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Fairview Baptist Church, 43rd and South Joplin Ave. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
