Gerald E. Winningham, age 80, of Golden City, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Freeman West Hospital.
Gerald was born December 6, 1934 at his family’s home in Dade County, Missouri, to Frank and Ella (Evans) Winningham. On March 25, 1954, Gerald married Darline Anderson. They made their home and raised their three sons, Wayne, John and Mark, in the Jerico Springs area. In addition to being a life-long farmer, Gerald delivered propane for more than 35 years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed working on the farm and hunting and fishing with his sons and grandchildren.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ella Winningham; two brothers, Willie and Earl Winningham; and one son, John Winningham.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Darline, of the home; two sons, Wayne Winningham, Carl Junction and Mark (Cherylon) Winningham, Carthage; a sister, Connie (Max) Montgomery, Jerico Springs; three sisters-in-law, Loraine Sanders, Arlington, Texas, Nadine (David) Perkins, Roscoe, Missouri, and Patsy (Bill) Baker, Lincoln, Nebraska; a brother-in-law, Andy (Debbie) Anderson, El Dorado Springs, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jessica (Carl) Manke, Crystal Winningham, and Tyler (Hannah) Winningham; and four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Dalton, Tate, and Johnny.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 4th at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Greenfield Cemetery near Jerico Springs.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Greenfield Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
