Charles Crowell

Charles J. Crowell, 86, passed away at Freeman Hospital on Saturday, January 27, 2018. Charles was born April 22, 1931, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Charles and Margaret Crowell. He was a resident of Diamond, Missouri, since 1993. Charles served in the United States Army for four years, followed by 25 years of service as a chemical engineer for the Department of Defense. While with the Department of Defense, he worked at the Naval Air Station in California, where he acquired numerous patents.

Charles was united in marriage to Rita Frede on June 13, 1959, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Charles is survived by his wife, three sons, six daughters, one sister, and 43 grandchildren.

Rosary and visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Ulmer Funeral Home. A mass service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Carthage, Missouri. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Carthage.
