Guy (Gene) Peoples, 86, Neosho, entered into rest on Jan. 17, 2018 at Medicalodge in Neosho, following a one year illness.
Gene was born June 26, 1931 in Parsons, Kansas. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, 1952-1954. He moved to Neosho in 1956, and worked for Rocketdyne until 1968. He then owned and operated Gene’s Service, 1972-1977 and then worked at New Mac, 1977 until retiring in 1997. He was a former member of Retread’s motorcycle club and a former Mason.
Gene married his wife, Donna on Dec. 23, 1951 and she preceded him in death on Feb. 2, 2003. He is survived by two sons, Jay Peoples and Darren Peoples and wife, Rosetta, all of Neosho; two grandchildren, Morgan Renner and husband, Trae of Stark City and Blake Peoples of Neosho and one great grandchild, Hadlee Renner. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his companion, Shirley Scroggs in November, 2016.
Graveside services and military honors will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018 at 10 am at the Neosho Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho on Monday, Jan. 22 between 5:30-6:30 pm.
