Joan Wilson, age 77 of Oronogo, Missouri passed away Monday January 22, 2018 following a decline in health.
She was born August 25, 1940 in Webb City, Missouri to Alvin and Mabel (Dixon) Newby.
Joan graduated from Webb City High School. She worked at the former Bradbury–Bishop and retired from AT&T as a reproductionist in 1985. She enjoyed making ceramics and attended the Oronogo Methodist Church.
She married Gene Wilson on June 15, 1958, and he survives. Also surviving are two sons, Mike Wilson and wife Jan, Chris Wilson and wife Julia all of the state of California; four grandchildren, Morgan and Dylan Wilson, Stephanie Wilson all of California and Shayna Ogawa and husband Kei, Japan; one great grandson, Jace Wilson; three brothers, Gale Newby, Stanley Newby, David Newby; five sisters, Lorena Dietz, Doris Beddingfield, Deloris Behymer, Mary Lou Villani, Shirley Millsap, as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Louise Marsh.
Following Joan’s wish she will be cremated.
A memorial service will be held in the spring with burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
