Walter W. Brashers, 73, Granby, entered into rest on Jan. 16, 2018 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
Walter was born March 16, 1944 in Neosho, Missouri, the son of George W. and Juanita (Eubanks) Brashers. He was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Neosho High School, class of 1962. He worked at Missouri Steel Casting for over 22 years. Walter enjoyed CB radios and was known as ‘Handyman’, mechanical projects and fishing with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Sweetwater Baptist Church.
Walter married Marilyn B. McCleary and she preceded him in death on Aug. 6, 2003. He is survived by two children, Carla Weinstein and husband, Michael and Brian Brashers and wife, Kelly; one sister, Martha Knight and husband, Charles; five grandchildren, Sarah, Savannah, Evan, Jacob and Noah; one great grandchild, Riley and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Esther Stewart.
Services will be Monday, Jan. 22, 2018 at 1:30 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Brother Tom Casady officiating. Interment will follow in the Hazel Green Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Brian Brashers, Jacob Brashers, Noah Brashers, Evan Weinstein, W. K. Cable and Randall Cook. The family will receive friends on Sunday at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho from 1 to 2 pm.
Contributions may be left at the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses or mailed to PO Box 66; Neosho, Missouri 64850.
