Barbara Jean Wallace, age 81 of Joplin, passed away at 12:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at her home.
Born December 19, 1933 in Neosho, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Gladys Wyatt Richards. Barbara had been a line worker for Motorola, Coleman and Display Tech. She was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church.
On December 29, 1982 she married Jerry Wallace at Miami, OK. He preceded her in death on August 13, 2011. She was also preceded by a son, Joe Shellenberger; brothers, Clyde Ray Richards and David Claude Richards.
Survivors include two daughters, Gail Bowman and husband Norman of Wichita, KS, Karen Swain and husband Keith of Broken Arrow, OK; four sons, Jimmy Webb of Joplin, Brian Scott Webb and wife Renee of Joplin, Michael Wallace of Oklahoma City, OK, Kevin Wallace of Carl Junction; three sisters, Claudine Builta of Joplin, Joyce Rose and husband Bob of Neosho, Eva Morrison and husband Gary of Neosho; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and a multitude of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at Oakwood Church, Southwest of Neosho, with Dr. John Swadley officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery with Jeremy Witte, Jeffrey Webb, Greg Case, Jason Webb, Brian Webb, Jeff Wilson, Wayne Builta, Gary Builta and Timothy Cockerham serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Parker Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
