Jerry Herron, age 81 of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Clarehouse in Tulsa following an extended illness.
Jerry was born May 20, 1933 to the late James Frank Herron and Hazel Messer Herron in Pitcher, Oklahoma. He was a tool and die maker for many years in the aerospace industry. Jerry also proudly served our country in the United States Navy.
On April 15, 1959, Jerry married his beautiful wife, Janet Croach in Miami, OK. She preceded him in death on July 12, 2006. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Frank Herron.
Those who survive Jerry are a daughter, Shari Herron of Tulsa; son, Gerald Herron Jr. and wife Alycia of Tulsa, OK; granddaughter, Teresa Anderson of Annandale, VA; step-grandson, Chance of Tulsa; sisters, Sally Compton of Coalinga, CA, Jeri Corrin of Santa Rosa, CA, sister in-law, Marilyn Moore of Metropolis, IL; niece, Diana Steele and husband David of Joplin; nephew, Frankie Herron of Joplin and his sons; great niece, Jessica Persinger and husband Matthew of Neosho and their children; great nephew, David Steele and wife Lindsey of Neosho and their children; cousin, Paul Cantrell and wife Doris of Joplin; granddog, Zeevah and many other family and friends.
Graveside services are planned for Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin. Family will receive friends prior to service from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Alzheimer's Foundation of America in care of the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
