Wilma Setina, 94, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away at 1:05 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2015 at National Health Care Center in Joplin.
She was born May 26, 1920 at Curransville, KS, the daughter of Antone and Josephine (Mlaker) Vena.
On January 29, 1943, she was united in marriage to Ernest L. Setina at Girard, Kansas. He preceded her in death on February 14, 1967. Mrs. Setina was a homemaker. Her life revolved around her family, where she was a great cook and an excellent baker.
Survivors include a daughter, Gloria ‘Jeane’ McGinnis and her husband, Gary of Neosho, MO; five grandchildren, Joe Berk and his wife, Beth, Sue Hirshey and her husband, Gary, Karen Self and her husband, Max, Shelly House and her husband, James, and Cindy McMullen and her husband, Jeremy; nineteen great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one great-granddaughter, P.J. Self; four brothers and 4 sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday (March 6) at the Garden of Memories Cemetery with Reverend Jim Martin officiating. Friends are requested to meet at the cemetery. Burial will follow the services. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Brenner Mortuary. The family suggests memorials to Camp Barnabus.
