Phyllis Louise Dittmar, 70, of Pittsburg, passed away at 8:20 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 2015, at the Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg.
She was born July 26, 1944, at Miami, OK, the daughter of Lloyd Lester and Virginia Lee (Shephard) Dirck Sr. She went on to graduate from high school in Kellogg, ID. Phyllis attended the Frontenac United Methodist Church. She volunteered at the Wesley House and the Salvation Army. She also loved to dance, play bingo, dominos and cards. Her greatest love was her family especially anything involving her grandchildren.
Phyllis is survived by one son, William Scott Dittmar of Frontenac, two daughters, Trisha Lynn Brewer of Olathe, KS, and Stephanie Suzanne Strong and her husband, Doug of Frontenac, two sisters, Joyce Snodgrass of Carthage, MO, and Janice Dirck Wade of Galena, KS, and four grandchildren, Lindsey Danielle Strong, Jake Ray Brewer, Caylee Nicole Strong and Kennedy Reece Brewer. She is preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Wendell Gray and one brother, Lloyd Lester Dirck Jr.
A graveside service for Phyllis is set for 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at the Jesse F. Osborne Memorial Cemetery, Joplin, MO. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the Brenner Mortuary. The family suggests memorials to the Wesley House.
