Charlotte May Morris, age 85, of Joplin, Missouri entered into eternal life on March 3, 2015 after a long illness, with her daughter and sister at her bedside.
Charlotte was born August 7, 1929 in Carthage, Missouri to Arthur and Beulah Vandergrift Riddle.
She graduated from Carthage High School in 1947. She was employed by Sears, Roebuck and Company for many years and retired at age 55. During her retirement she traveled extensively. She was also the owner of Wedding Bells Boutique.
She is survived by her daughter, Teddie Sue Morris, Tulsa, Oklahoma and her younger sister, Sharon Owen and husband Jim, Joplin, Missouri, two nephews, Jeff Owen and wife Kim, Jamey Owen and wife Roxanne, as well as many close friends and her cats she loved so much, Boo, Callie, and Peedee.
The family offers a special thanks to Home Instead Senior Care for their loving care.
Charlotte was a visionary and an entrepreneur who was ahead of her time. She set an excellent example for others in her life to set goals and live their dreams.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to be made to Spare Cat Rescue in care of the mortuary. The family also requests, as a gentle reminder, that you give a longer hug to the ones you love.
The family will receive friends at the home, 2504 E 10th, Joplin, Missouri on Saturday, March 7, 2017 from 11:00am to 1:00pm. A meal will be provided.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Chapel of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary.
