Kenneth Batson, age 60, of Pierce City, MO died on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Cox-Monett Hospital in Monett, MO. Mr. Batson was born in Monett, MO on Saturday, June 12, 1954. He was the son of Marion F. and Mary (Needham) Batson. Mr. Batson was married to Laura Payton on January 2, 2002, in Miami OK. He was retired from the U.S. Navy after twenty years of serving his country.
Surviving are the following: his wife, Laura of the home; one son, Kenneth Batson Jr. of Smithburg, MD; one stepson, Brett Payton of Joplin, MO; two daughters, Lori A. Thompson of San Leandro, CA and Cyndi Suer of Walnut Creek, CA; one sister, Deanna Cheves of Niceville, FL; two brothers, Michael Batson of Conway, AR and Steven Batson of Pierce City, MO; and five grandchildren.
Mr. Batson has been cremated at his request and will be buried at a later date under the direction of Lakin Funeral in Pierce City, MO.
