Norman Frock

Norman Charles “Norm” Frock, age 76, of Lamar, passed away Monday evening, April 20, 2015 at Mercy Hospital Joplin.

Norm was born January 20, 1939 in Green County, Arkansas to Albert and Bertha (Goedecke) Frock. Moving to Lamar with his family, he graduated from Lamar High School in 1959 and began a 35 year career with Finley Engineering and also served as a volunteer on the Lamar Fire Department for 35 years. He also worked as the projector operator at Barco Drive-In for many years.

On April 7, 1962, in Lamar, Norman married Wanda L. Hobbs. In addition to their love and devotion to each other, Norman and Wanda shared a passion for fishing, camping, and traveling the country in their RV. Together they built several homes, always with the doors open wide for family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Lorie (Rod) Forkner and Penny (Bryan) Robertson, all of Lamar; three brothers, Albert Jr. (Joanne) Frock, Peculiar, Missouri, Walter Frock, Wichita, Kansas, and George (Sylvia) Frock, Tennessee; two sisters, Dorothy Osterloh, Freistatt, Missouri, and Betty (Lowell) Pugh, Golden City; four grandchildren, Lindsey (Jake) Hobson, Diamond, Missouri, Trenton Watson, Jasper, Missouri, Hailey (Kaleb) Rook, Lamar, and Emmie Robertson, Lamar; three great-grandchildren, Dylan Watson, Samantha Hobson, and Rory Rook.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, John, Fred, and Chet Frock.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Daniel Funeral Home.
