Walter Roach, age 57, Joplin, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Freeman West after a sudden illness.
Walter was born October 20, 1957 in Joplin, son of the late Wayne Lewis and Alice Roach Lewis. He attended Joplin Schools, and graduated from Joplin High School. He worked for the City of Joplin for over 37 years before retiring. He started with the sanitation department, and retired working with the street department.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Natasha Roach.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Green Roach, whom he married October 9, 1976; three children, Shawn Roach and wife, Megan of Joplin, Lloyd Duncan of Joplin, Tonie Haslip and husband Rob of Carl Junction; brothers, Jesse Lewis and Annette, James Lewis and Shirley all of Joplin; sisters, Alice Twigger of Joplin, and Mary Liveoak of Nevada, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will hold memorial services at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
