Neol Henry Thomas age 92 of Joplin, Mo passed away Thursday April 16, 2015 at The Communities of Wildwood Ranch.
He was born on August 3, 1922 in Grove, OK the son of William Henry and Faye Thomas. Neol was a veteran serving his country with the United States Army. He married Eunice Christine Selman on July 4, 1942 to this union three children were born, she died too young from breast cancer at the age of 73 in 1996. He later married Zelma Hiatt on November 22, 2002. He helped design tools with NASA in the space program that went to the moon, from 1961 to 1969, then drove a truck from 69 to 89 when he retired. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed fishing and armature radio.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, two sons: Neol Jr. and James Thomas; a brother Napoleon Thomas, and two sisters: Dorothy Beamon and Betty Jean Thomas. Survivors include his wife Zelma, a son Richard Thomas, and two grandsons: James and Joseph Thomas.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday April 21, 2015 at the Osborne Cemetery Joplin, MO with Bishop Tucker officiating. The family suggests contributions to a charity of ones choice in care of the mortuary.
