Leo Eugene Hites, 89 years old, passed away, Friday April 17, 2015. He was born March 8, 1926 to James Leo Hites and Audrey Lela (Rapp) Hites in Montevallo, MO. He was a Private First Class early in his life. He retired from the MFA Grain Elevator after many years of service. He was an avid gardener and fisherman.
He is survived by 6 children, June and Joe Turnbach, Littleton, CO, Paula and John Wingert, Golden City, MO, Patti and Jimmy Rooker, Yukon, OK; James Hites, Oklahoma City, OK, Joyce and Keith Cochran, Mustang, OK, Rex Hites of the home. Two sisters, Mary Leivan, Jasper, MO, and Ellen Carnagie, Eudora, KS, 18 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, with numerous nieces and nephews, and his wife, Marie Jeanette Hites.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother, one grandson, Jeffrey Kirby and one great grandson, Peyton Foster. Memorial Service was held at Sharon's Family Restaurant, Monday, April 20, 2015.
