Maxine Dorsey, 83, Joplin, went to be with the Lord at her home with family by her side on Friday, July 3, 2015 in Joplin, Missouri.
She was born June 8, 1932 in Splitlog, Missouri, the daughter of the late Orville and Mae (Yocum) McIntire. Maxine graduated from Anderson High School and grew up attending Banner Nazarene Church. She was a loving mother and homemaker who loved gardening, quilting, and embroidery, and was known for the flowers in her garden.
Maxine married John Dorsey on October 26, 1957 in Splitlog and he survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Joyce Kastl and husband, Randy of Joplin; two grandchildren, Laura Gullett and husband, Craig and Marissa Kastl, both of Joplin; two great grandchildren, Truman Gullett and Jamari Radford and two more on the way; one brother, Dale McIntire and wife Rowena of Joplin; her twin sister, Lorene Olson of Diamond; sister, Pauline Tackett and husband, Victor of Bartlesville, OK; a sister-in-law, Yvonne McIntire of Joplin; and several nieces and nephews. Maxine is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Everett and Raymond McIntire.
