Janet Lynne Garrett, age 56 of Joplin, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2015.
Born October 23, 1958 in Joplin, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Carol Bond Garrett and graduated from Parkwood High School in 1976.
Her greatest three accomplishments were her daughter, Andrea Arnold of Joplin, being a grandmother to Gabriel Arnold of Joplin and Quentyn Bowerman of Joplin. She is survived by a loving and supportive mother Carol Heaton of Joplin; two brothers, Rusty Garrett of Broken Arrow, OK, Rick Garrett of Joplin; great-granddaughter, Skout Savusa of Joplin: nephew, Ronnie Garrett of Broken Arrow, OK; and nephew Matthew Henderson of Springfield MO.
She was also a respected member of the meat cutters' union, she had worked for Twin Hills, Consumers Grocery and Dillon's Grocery.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, where memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Private family services will be held.
