On the evening of June 30, 2015, Willie Marsh Hunter passed away at home surrounded by loved ones.
Mr. Hunter was born November 3, 1949, in Toxey, Alabama then being adopted at the age of three by John and Ruth Hunter. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Cobble until retirement.
Mr. Hunter enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved to laugh and was often the life of the party. When Mr. Hunter wasn't working or fishing, he found pleasure in barbecuing and smoking meats on his custom smoker.
Mr. Hunter is survived by his daughters, Tawanna Denise Anthony, Joplin, Barbara Denise Collins, Pensacola, Florida; wife, Sandra; step daughters, Faith Sargent, Joplin, Carla Martin and her husband, Bill, Carterville; one brother, Prentiss Hackett, Joplin; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Tawanna Anthony's mother, Jutta Anthony.
Services are planned for Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Ken Harper and Willie Rogers, Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Martin, Steve Yeager, Tyrell Harbin, Wesley Sargent, Trace Sargent, Reese Miller, Dave Jackson, David Jackson, Jr., Floyd Hackett, Harlon Scott, and Quinterrio Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Johnson, Henry Sweeney, Keith Everage, De Shannon Akia Shabazz, Mike Magee, Jerry Love, Prentiss Hackett, Kenny Weathers, Kevin Jackson, and many more. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.
