Jo Ann "Jody" Salas, age 72, Joplin, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Freeman West Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Jody was born February 13, 1944 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, daughter of the late Bob and Maria Williams. She grew up in Neosho, Missouri, and moved to Joplin in 1978. She was a homemaker taking care of her family, and was very patriotic, having lost family members in military service. She was very involved with the Local VFW.
In addition to her parents, Jody was preceded in death by a brother, Teddy Jack Williams, and a sister, Shirley Clevenger.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie Castellanos, of Joplin, a son, Al Salas of Joplin; grandchildren, Alexandria and Logan Salas both of Joplin; daughter-in-law Susan Sunthimer; brother, Clayton "Bunk" and wife Tina of Goodman, Missouri.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary with private family services at a later date.
