Larry Augustine

Larry J. Augustine, age 61 of Neosho, went to be with the Lord on August 5, 2017 at Overland Park, Kansas, following an illness. 

 Larry was born August 6, 1955 in Hays, Kansas, the son of Clarence and Matilda (Sanders) Augustine. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, service 1974-1977 and was stationed in San Diego, California. During his service time, he was involved in evacuations from Vietnam. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy, he earned Bachelor degrees in Psychology and Education from MSSU. He also earned a Masters degree in Education from MSU. He also played college baseball and was a former semi-pro player. He taught middle school for the Diamond School District and following his retirement from education, was a realtor at Show Me Real Estate. He enjoyed fishing, serving others and loved spending time with his family. 

 Larry and Tina (Vinson) were married on July 31, 1993 and she survives. Additional survivors include four children, Charity Hootman and husband, Matt of Austin, TX; Casie Ouren and husband, Matt of Joplin; Blake Augustine and Zach Workman of the home; his stepfather, Gene Kippes and wife, Neyla; one brother, Ron Augustine and wife, Deb of Hays, KS and three grandchildren, Trevyn, Grace and Joe. He is preceded in death by his mother and father.
