Roger Smith

Mr. Roger Dale Smith, 64, of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life on Friday morning, August 25, 2017, at the McDonald County Living Center in Anderson, Missouri, after a recent battle with cancer.

Roger entered this life on June 29, 1953, in Wheaton, Missouri, born to the union of the late Cliss Henry and Alma Louise (Day) Smith. He was raised on a farm near Powell, Missouri and was a lifelong resident of McDonald County. Roger was a very social individual who always wore a smile. He enjoyed playing games, listening to music, was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and an avid tool collector. Roger was a member of the Anderson First Baptist Church.

Roger is survived by his sister, Johnnie Buchanan and husband, John, of Powell, Missouri; a niece, Rhonda Bouvier and husband, Jeff, of Powell, Missouri; a nephew, Troy Buchanan and wife, Stephanie, of Anderson; five great nieces and nephews, Mykkah, Hayden, Tristain, Samuel and Kyla; three half-siblings, Clistine, Peggy and Harold; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Smith are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2017, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Bro. John Beck and Bro. Jerry Siegel officiating. Burial will follow in the Rocky Comfort Cemetery. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Troy Buchanan, Tristain Buchanan, John Buchanan, William Parrish, Hayden Bouvier, Samuel Bouvier and Jeff Bouvier. The family will receive friends on Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Memorials are being directed to the McDonald County Living Center Activities Fund c/o the funeral home.
