Shirley Faye Batton, 80, Granby, passed away at Granby House on August 29, 2017. She was born Sept. 5, 1936 in Yellville, AR, the daughter of Richmond Thurman and Zella Belle (Matlock) Patterson. She spent much of her life in the Newton and McDonald County area. Shirley formerly worked as an inspector for Talbot Wire. She was a member of the Baptist Church, enjoyed going on cruises and was a fan of the KC Chiefs.
Shirley is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Stutman and Tony Lakey of Granby, Linda Betsey of Quapaw, OK, one son, Kenneth Batton and wife, Marcie of Brandenburg, KY, nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and one brother, Ed Patterson of Yellville, AR. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by one son, Darrell Batton, one sister, Lillian Walters, and four brothers, Ray, Pat, Chet, and Jim Patterson.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Neosho. Pastor Sheldon Harris will officiate. Contributions in memory of Shirley may be made to Granby House Activity Fund c/o Clark Funeral Home, P.O. Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.
