Bill Jenkins

(From Parker Mortuary)

Bill R. Jenkins, age 66, Oronogo, Missouri, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 after a short illness.

Bill was born December 14, 1951 in Ava, Missouri, son of the late Jesse and Freda Jenkins. He graduated from Ava High School, and then attended School of the Ozarks in Branson where he met his loving wife, Kathy L. Oxley.

Bill retired from Fibrex, formerly Eagle Picher, as plant manager, after 46 years of service. He loved being a husband, father, papa, farmer and friend. He also loved his church family and served at both Pleasant Hill UMC and Carl Junction UMC for several years. Most recently he was attending College Heights Christian Church. Bill was one of the original members of the Men's B.S.F. (Bible Study Fellowship) which meet on Tuesday nights in Joplin. He enjoyed and grew spiritually with this devoted group of men. His life was marked by humble service, gracious generosity and increasing love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Bill’s family reaps the benefits of his legacy as a spiritual leader in their home. Bill’s friends reap the benefits of walking through life with a man who loved God and others above himself.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Lyle Jenkins.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Kathy Jenkins; daughters, Tami Fredrickson and husband Steve of Carl Junction, Tanya Willmeth and husband Eric of Columbia, Missouri; grandchildren, Katie and Kallie Fredrickson, Braden, Aubrey, Brooke and Ashbee Willmeth; sisters, Virginia Jones of Marshfield, Missouri, Joann Austin and husband Evon of Smithville, Missouri, and Laurie Walker and husband Ray of Cedar Creek, Texas; sister-in-law, Syd Jenkins of Ava; father-in-law Jim Oxley of Mountain Grove, Missouri; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the B.S.F. (Bible Study Fellowship) care of Parker Mortuary.
