Punkin Jester

Olive Norene “Punkin” Jester of Miami, OK passed from this life Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO. She was 67.

Punkin was born September 7, 1950 in Wyandotte, OK. She had lived in the Miami area most of her life. She graduated Miami High School in 1968. She was a cook at the Hitchin Post in Welch, OK and Woody’s CafĂ© in Miami and was the manager and bartender at Evelyn’s Club for 25 years in Miami. She was a member of the Miami Elks Lodge No. 1320 and loved cooking and entertaining friends and family.

Punkin was preceded in death by her father Bill Walton, her mother Helen McCall and 3 sisters, Jean Ann Miller, Patty Jo Lesley and Billie Blair.

Survivors include her husband Merlin Jester of the home, 2 brothers Johnnie McCall and wife Esther of Gladstone, MO and Jimmy McCall of Wyandotte, OK, 2 sisters Maxine Jones and husband Glen of Miami, OK and Dee McCall of Carthage, MO, several nieces and nephews, including her nieces she was a mother figure to Amy Blair and Amanda Volentine , and her great nieces and nephew she was a second grandma to Reannah and Rase Blair and Kamrynn Andrews.

Celebration of Life Services will be Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK. Rev. Phil Shyers will officiate. The family will receive friends following service till 8:00 p.m. Services have been placed in the care of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK.
