James Craig

Mr. James Floyd “Jim” Craig, 64, of Goodman, Missouri, departed this life on Friday, January 19, 2018, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri, after months of declining health.

Jim entered this life on January 14, 1954, in Springfield, Missouri, born to the union of the late Floyd Eugene and Vera Maxine (Purvis) Craig. He graduated from Turner High School in Kansas City, Kansas, in 1972. He furthered his education at Kansas City Kansas Community College. On June 7, 1982, he was united in marriage to Patricia “Patty” Whitney and together they have shared the last thirty-five years. Jim worked in the printing and lithography field throughout his life. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing pool and visiting with his family and countless friends. Jim was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Herb Hendon.

Jim is survived by his wife, Patty Craig of the home; four children, Heather Given and Jason Fields, of Goodman, Daniel Craig of Cameron, Missouri, Meredith Baker and husband, Steve, of Stockton, Missouri and Stacy Flynn and husband, Tim, of Olathe, Kansas; ten grandchildren; his stepfather, John Williams of Neosho, Missouri; two brothers, Bob Craig and Tim Hendon both of Neosho; three sisters, Libby Adams and husband, Michael, of Topeka, Kansas, Kathy Wymer and husband, Gail, of Haslett, Texas and Gene Ann O’Toole of the state of Cheyenne, Wyoming; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Craig are 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2018, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Libby Adams officiating. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in the Stone Cemetery near Diamond, Missouri. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Jason Fields, Tim Flynn, Allen Longstaff, Joe Smith, Blake Landis and Austin Landis. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Memorials are being directed to the Disabled American Veterans c/o the funeral home.
