Diane Katherine “Sapone” Houlihan, 80, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Diane was born March 11, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to Charles and Laura “Bozvsky” Sapone.
Diane was a long-time resident of the Sarcoxie/Carthage Area since 1977. She retired from Empire District Electric Company and was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. She was a member of Four Corners Quilt Guild; she enjoyed gardening, crafts and most of all . . . her grandchildren.
Diane was the proud mother of five children: Michael Houlihan, Theresa Block, James Houlihan, David Houlihan and Daniel Houlihan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Daniel Houlihan, and brother Charles Sapone, Jr.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 25, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Pierce City, Missouri. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Ulmer Funeral Home, with the Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m.
