Carol Cooper

Carol Ann (Harris) Cooper, age 76, of Southwest City, Missouri went to be with her heavenly Father, after a long struggle with cancer, surrounded by her family and friends on Friday, January 19, 2018.

She was the daughter of Andy and Margaret (Watkins) Harris, born on April 6, 1941 in Yukon, Oklahoma. Carol married Joe Cooper in February of 1999 in Miami, Oklahoma, they resided in Southwest City, Missouri and to this union they brought together a family of his, hers and ours, total of eight children. Carol worked at Gravette Medical Center as certified nurse's aide for 20 years. She enjoyed collecting chicken plates and dolls of all kinds. She loved being a friend to anyone in need of a special friend to talk to.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Cooper; great grandson, Cooper Little; granddaughter, Tamisha Cooper, Grandmother, Bertha Owens; several aunts, uncles and two son-in-laws, Adam Gentry and Billy Whisnant.
Carol is survived by her two sisters, Gail Halbert of Dalhart, Texas, Sue Cason and husband, Dale of Edmond, Oklahoma; her eight children, Kim Gentry of Yukon, Oklahoma, Curtis Ogle and wife, Karen of Yukon, Oklahoma, Cleta Whisnant of Cromwell, Oklahoma, Gay Whisnant of Cromwell, Oklahoma, Clayton Ogle and wife, Barbie of Gravette, Arkansas, Margaret Mathews and husband, James of Joplin, Missouri, Jeff Cooper and wife, Ginger of Southwest City, Missouri, Lana Martin and husband, Scott of Gravette, Arkansas; 24 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; three very special friends, Christy and Michael Sitterly, Sheila Frye and her beloved dog, Willie; along with a host of other relatives and friends who will dearly miss Carol.

The family would like to give a very heartfelt thank you to Good Shepherd Hospice of Grove, Oklahoma and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Funeral services for Carol will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Southwest City Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. Pastor Stewart Henderson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City, Missouri.
