Genevieve “Genny” Cahalan, 84, of Pierce City, Missouri went to be with her Lord in Heaven on Friday January 19, 2018 while staying at Lawrence County Manor in Mt. Vernon. She was born in Pulaski, Wisconsin on June 4, 1933; the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Garb) Noose. She was united in marriage on June 6, 1953 in Pierce City to James Cahalan; he survives.
She was a homemaker and worked for various kitchens around the area and was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City, Missouri.
Genny is survived by her husband James of the home; seven sons: Terry Cahalan of Monett, Randy Cahalan of Sugarloaf, Pennsylvania, Mark Cahalan of Greenfield, Missouri, Kenny Cahalan of Pierce City, Joe Cahalan of Pierce City, Patrick Cahalan of Carl Junction, and Jim Cahalan of Neosho; four daughters: kay Batson of Verona, Connie Cahalan of Ashland, Missouri, Lori Neil of Monett, and Mary Abramovitz of Pierce City, one brother: Joseph Noose of Columbia, Missour; one sister Pat Cahalan of Pierce City, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rosary for Genny is being held on Monday January 22, 2018 at 6:00p.m. at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Missouri.
Visitation will follow Rosary until 8:00p.m.. Funeral Mass is being held on Tuesday January 23, 2018 at 10:30a.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City, Missouri with Father Paul McLoughlin officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Research.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Missouri.
