Chub Gorham

W. C. ‘Chub’ Gorham, 76, Neosho, entered into rest on January 16, 2018 at his home in Joplin. 

Chub was born March 20, 1941 in Newton County, Missouri, the son of Clyde and Zoe (Hague) Gorham and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Goodman High School in 1959. He was an accomplished finish carpenter and had worked at Branco for many years before establishing his own business. In addition to woodworking, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren and attending their activities. In September, 2003, Chub was a heart transplant recipient. He was a member of the Neosho First Baptist Church. 

 Chub and Marjorie (Chester) were married on December 15, 1962 at Splitlog and she survives. Additional survivors include three children, Adana Macy and husband, Vince of Rogers, AR; Lorri Cole and husband, Terry of Joplin and Dusty Gorham and wife, Janet of Grove, OK; two brothers, Jerry Gorham and wife, Betty of Seneca and Gerald Gorham and wife, Jeannie of Gadsden, AL; one sister, Donna Stout and husband, Clyde of Joplin; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren and his mother in law, Minerva Chester. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Marvin Gorham and one sister, Betty Crews.

Memorial services will be Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018 at 3 pm at the Neosho First Baptist Church, Pastor Mike Snider and Dr. Todd Decker will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service until 5 pm at the church.
