Evelyn Darlene Thuerauf, age 87, Joplin, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Missouri.
She was born in Seminal Park at Lynn Junction, Rural Cedar Rapids, Iowa to the late William Volesky and Molly Volesky.
Evelyn married Bernard Thuerauf, on February 9, 1953 in Cedar Rapids, they later divorced. She was a very devoted mother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Marvin and Lawrence Volesky.
Survivors include her three sons, Steve Thuerauf, his wife Rhonda, Jasper, Missouri, Richard Thuerauf, Joplin, and Duane Thuerauf, and his wife, Becky, Abbott, Texas; three daughters, Darline Heath, her husband, Jim, Carthage, Missouri, Brenda Lacy, Joplin, and Donna Thuerauf, her husband, Robert Dorfman, San Diego, California; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and one on the way; three sisters, Eleanor Hegland, Blanche Volesky and Marge Volesky, all of Cedar Rapids.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Joplin. The family will receive friends on Monday, from 6-7 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will take place at the Czech National Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, IA.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
