Donna Aronson

Donna Lee Aronson, 61, passed away peacefully in the arms of her beloved family on January 27th, 2018, at her home in Carthage, Missouri.

Donna was born on December 13, 1956 in Berea, Ohio to Sandy and Larry Higgins. She has been a resident of Carthage since 1960. She graduated from Carthage High School in 1974, earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Missouri State, and completed a Master’s program at Pittsburg State University. Donna attended Fairview Christian Church where she was baptized by one of her dearest friends, Alice Johns.

Donna dedicated over 30 years to the Carthage R-9 community as a language arts and French teacher, A+ Coordinator, AFS/FLC Sponsor, homebound teacher, and high school counselor. Mrs. Aronson had a gift for inspiring students to realize their full potential.

Donna was faithfully devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren; nothing gave her more joy. She had a deep, loving, and enduring bond with her sisters. Her unique ability to make friends created relationships that will last beyond a lifetime. She was passionate about her dogs, Chanel and Bentley, singer Rod Stewart, and football, especially the Oakland Raiders. It was always a good day when the Raiders beat the Chiefs. Known for her quick wit, positive attitude, brilliant mind, and generous heart, she will be missed by many.

Donna leaves behind her beloved husband, Terry; five children, Andrew Tisdale, Jason Tisdale, Melanie (Chris) Michalewicz, Greta Aronson (Darris Strickland), Sadie (Seth) Spencer; mother, Sandy Higgins (Gary Martin); sisters, Jean (Gary) Hardman, Janet Jones, Debbie (Greg) Boulware; five grandchildren, Jasmine, JaShawn, Sayah, Fiona, and Lydia; sister-in-law, Melody (Frank) Colette; brothers-in-law, Dan (Karen) Aronson, Tom (Joann) Aronson, Jim (Chris) Aronson, Roger Aronson, and Kevin (Kathy) Aronson. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her father, Larry Higgins; parents-in-law, Gladys and Roy Aronson; and nephew, Russell Boulware.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Fairview Christian Church in Carthage, with a gathering of friends and family to follow at the church.
