(From Daniel Funeral Home)Joseph (Guy) Lewis Gallman Jr., age 70, of Jerico Springs, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024, at his home in Jerico Springs.
Guy was born April 25, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri to Joseph and Anne (Carey) Gallman. He was a graduate of Ritenour High School in St. Louis.
Guy worked many years as a safe and locksmith, he was an office manager, auto tech, news anchor, sound engineer and more. His favorite occupation was being a radio talk show host. As a people person and sometimes prankster, this occupation suited him well. He always said it was the most fun he ever had making a paycheck.
Guy had a big personality and an even bigger heart for Jesus. He was loving, giving, and full of integrity. A more honorable man is rarely found. His love for kids and animals filled him with joy and he spoke God's love into those around him. He was saved as an adult and enjoyed sharing his testimony of how God took hold of his heart. If there is one single thing, he would want everyone to know it is how Jesus saves. His favorite verses to quote were:
John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
and
Matthew 28:19 - "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
Because of this, he believed the Operation Christmas Child ministry to be among the most powerful ministries based on the number of people reached through Christ with each shoebox.
Memorial donations can be made to First Baptist Church of Lamar, and they will fund Guy's Operation Christmas Child memorial account.
Guy is survived by his wife, Anita VanSickle Gallman; son, Joe Gallman of Wichita, Kansas; daughter, Kathleen Finklea; brother, Richard Gallman of Meadville, Pennsylvania; and sister, Caryl Gallman of Ballwin, Missouri.
Guy was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Lamar, on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. This service will also be livestreamed on the church's facebook page for those that cannot attend in person.
