(From Parker Mortuary)Jesse M. Childers, Jr., age 76 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026 at Concordia Health Center in Bella Vista, AR following declining health. Jesse was born December 1, 1949 in Yakima, Washington to the late Jesse M. Childers, Sr. and Vivian (Ballard) Childers.
After graduating high school, Jesse attended Missouri Southern State College for four years but was unable to finish his degree in drafting due to enlisting into the United States Army where he served two terms in the Vietnam War. After his war time, Jesse worked as a machinist for different companies in the Joplin area. Jesse was of the Chickamauga Tribe.
Jesse is survived by his wife, Marrianne (Watson) Childers of Joplin; sons, Autumn Childers of Marshfield, Missouri, Jason Childers of Springfield, Missouri; daughter, LeeAnn Binnion of Joplin; grandsons, Marshiel and Colt Connell; one great-granddaughter; brother, Dennis Childers of Fayetteville, North Carolina; numerous extended family and friends.
Ashes will be buried at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin, Missouri at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
