Betty Keller

Betty Jean Keller, 84, of Pittsburg, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015 at St. Luke’s Plaza Hospital. 

She was born May 21, 1931 at Walnut, Kansas, the daughter of Gilbert and Josephine (Marnell) Reeves. On September 22, 1951, she was united in marriage to Otto J. Keller at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Walnut, Kansas. They lived in Fort Scott, Kansas until 1958, when they moved to Pittsburg. He preceded her in death on March 10, 2005. Membership was held in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Altar Society. Mrs. Keller was a church volunteer and loved to play bridge. 

Survivors include two sons, Rick Keller of Pittsburg and Dave Keller of Mindenmines, MO; three daughters, Connie Keller of Leavenworth, KS, Sue Bain of Lenexa, KS and Paula Galvin of Leavenworth, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, eight brothers, Gilbert, Tom, Paul, Pat, Don, Bob, Jerry, and Jack, and three sisters, Isabelle Locke, Mary Jo Dent, and Connie Viets. 

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday (Nov. 30) at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Baldwin as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. A parish rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Brenner Mortuary, where the family will receive friends following until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Sunday to sign the register. The family suggests memorials to Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Fund. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762.
