Buck Hunt

Arvel “Buck” Hunt, age 95, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away at 4:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 15, 2018, at the Springfield Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Springfield. He was born May 2, 1923, in Miller, Missouri, the son of Charley and Audrey (Weaver) Hunt.

Buck was a United States Army Veteran during World War II and stationed in Mt. Belvedere, Italy and was a Purple Heart Recipient. He was the owner and operator of Linga Longa Resort in Climax Springs, Missouri, retiring in 1978.

On October 25, 1958, he married Florence Viola Campbell in Miami, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on July 26, 2005.

Buck is survived by his son, Charles Hunt and his wife, Sheryll, of Springfield, Missouri; stepdaughter, Carol Tull and her husband, Ron, of Phoenix, Arizona; two stepsons, Patrick Cahill of Phoenix, Arizona and Richard Cahill and his wife, Judy, of Carthage, Missouri; three grandchildren, Denise Monson and her husband, Tim, of Winnebago, Illinois, Joseph Hunt and his wife, Melanie, of Verona, Wisconsin and Mary Hedrick and her husband, Jaron, of Pensacola, Florida; four great-grandchildren, Alexandria Hunt, Raedyn Hunt, Mika Monson and Max Monson and several nieces and nephews.

His parents, Charley and Audrey, wife, Florence, sister, Golda Hope and two brothers, Willard and Corbin Hunt preceded him in death.

A graveside service, under the direction of the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller, Missouri will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at the Pennsboro Cemetery in Pennsboro, Missouri.
